Paver fire pit, natural gas — Alpha Gas Services, Jacksonville FL

Fire pits are one of the things we do most. Whether your mason is building a paver pit, you bought a fire table, or you want a linear burner in a new patio, we run the natural gas or propane line to the spot, install the burner, air mixer and key valve, and test the flame height and ignition.

Building the pit yourself or with a contractor? Call us at the planning stage. We tell you where the stub-out goes, what burner size the line supports and how to leave the pit ventilated so it stays safe and lights easily.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to what customers ask us most. Anything else? Call or text and we'll walk you through it.

How big a fire pit can my gas line support?

It depends on the burner BTU and the line size. A typical 24-inch burner runs about 90,000 BTU; we size the line for it or install a larger one so the flame is full, not weak.

Does a gas fire pit need ventilation?

Yes. Enclosed pits need vents so gas cannot collect inside the structure. We show you or your mason where to leave them.

Can you install the burner in a fire pit that is already built?

Usually yes, as long as there is access for the line and the vents. We evaluate it at the free estimate.

Propane or natural gas for a fire pit?

Natural gas if it is available at the house; propane with a buried or above-ground tank if it is not. Both give a good flame with the right burner and regulator.
